Wow -- the teabaggers, birthers and know-nothings waited for hours for Bible Spice to sign copies of Going Rogue, and they weren't happy when her highness basically took the money and ran... (Rumproast):

Teabaggers just aren't happy about anything these days. I guess the Noblesville, Indiana Going Rogue book signing didn't go very well yesterday because 300* or so of the 1000 people with wristbands were asked not to tread on Sarah Palin and then she tried to make a getaway with Baby Trig and several duffel bags full of cash but wingnuts have learned to protest about everything these days, so they were having none of it. This is the best thing you will see about horrible, horrible Sarah Palin on the internets all day and until the end of time.

Even better, the "fans left behind" left behind not-so-kind messages on the former VP nom's Facebook page.

Lu Paletta Part I: No Sarah Palin wristband yesterday. Got a bookplate w/fake signature; was told it was as good as a band. Part of overflows that was next in line; group had real camaraderie in cold/rain for >15 hours. Folks from all over with 1 goal, see someone who speaks for us. The bus arrived, a crowd of 500 outside, 1000s inside. A roaring welcome, Gov Palin & Trig, a few remarks, few pictures and on to Barnes&Nobles;.

Lu Paletta Part II: 30 mins after being let in, told leave or be escorted out. Showed bookplates; told they had no value. B&N blamed cutoff on Palins who had to go to Ft Wayne. It is 3 hours away, a next day signing; she couldn't stay for fans who waited in rain/cold all day? B&N ticked me off; returned all books. Governor: You have the people's ear; you are scaring Washington. But, please acknowledge people that wait for hours to see you. We are reaching out to you and need you to reach back.

You angered and disappointed over 300 families in Noblesville tonight. I attended Mike Huckabee's book signing yesterday. He had pre-signed book in case he would be unable to sign all the books for people who qualified. His books would be exchange one for one with any one whose book he could not sign

First, you should work to make this right. Second, you need to make sure that it never happens again!

Jordan Harris I just spent 9 hours of my day, $40 of my hard earned money on two of your books, and took the whole day off work to watch you jump on a bus and throw a half-heated wave to the crowd you were avoiding.

I have never felt so disrespected. How can you claim that you are different? You aren't. You are just as selfish as everyone else in Washington. It breaks my heart. I thought you might be the answer to the turmoil this country is under but you aren't. You just slapped hundreds of Hoosiers in the face. The hard working type of people that you claim to represent.

You say in your book that you chose to sleep well over eating well. At the end of the day I know that you don't care that you wasted the whole day of some 20 year old college student who lives on their own. I understand that all that matters is that I spent my money on two of your books. I'm sure your eating well. You certainly have no reason to be sleeping well.

A Flood of Sarah Palin Knock-Off Books, Also

Sarah Palin may fashion herself as a go-it-alone maverick, but her book is producing a crowd.
By the time the former governor's memoir - "Going Rogue: An American Life" - officially hits book stores on Tuesday - there'll be a legion of titles waiting to cash in, from unauthorized biographies to critical essays to a tongue-in-cheek coloring book.
That doesn't even include the picture book "Terminatrix: The Sarah Palin Chronicles" - which superimposes her head on paintings and famous photos - and a boomlet of self-published books, including one that weirdly takes Henrik Ibsen's play "Hedda Gabler" and merely substitutes Gabler for Palin and George Tesman for Todd Palin.
Some serious, others looking for laughs
Other serious studies out this month include "Sarah From Alaska: The Sudden Rise and Brutal Education of a New Conservative Superstar" by Scott Conroy and Shushannah Walshe, and "The Persecution of Sarah Palin: How the Elite Media Tried to Bring Down a Rising Star," by Matthew Continetti, an associate editor at The Weekly Standard.

Other authors are going simply for laughs, such as "Going Rouge: The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring and Activity Book" by Julie Sigwart and Micheal Stinson, which is filled with political cartoons drawn in the style of a coloring book. Readers can do a word search for Palin's potential vice presidential picks - can you find "Rush Limbaugh" and "Tina Fey"? - or tackle a puzzle maze of oil pipelines.
One of the more bizarre offerings is "Sarah Palin's Secret Diary," by Joey Green, a former contributing editor to the National Lampoon, who has previously written books skewering Monica Lewinsky and George W. Bush.

PALIN: Boasts that she ran her campaign for governor on small donations and turned back large checks from big donors.
THE FACTS: Of the roughly $1.3 million she raised, more than half came from people and political action committees giving at least $500.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is set to deliver remarks at a Wisconsin Right to Life event Friday evening, one of the few speeches the former Republican presidential nominee will have given since she resigned the governorship last summer.
But Palin appears to be doing her best to keep a low profile on this trip: no press will be allowed into the Milwaukee auditorium where she will speak and those who have paid the $30 admittance fee are unable to carry in cell phones, cameras, laptops, or recording devices of any kind.
Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Mike Tate told the Wisconsin Radio Network he finds all these restrictions "bizarre."
"You know, for someone who claims to be a rogue and isn't afraid of what other people think it really is sort of hypocritical to not let the media, the press cover your event."

Oh lord, I have to break it to Kate that her "high batsh*ttery-level" people down in her home state are acting up again. Here's Huntsville, AL resident Cathy Maples:

Maples, 53, of Huntsville, outbid the other contenders in an eBay auction that ended Friday to share a meal with Palin. The dinner brought in the highest bid of the 10 items offered in the auction that raised $95,000 for the Ride 2 Recovery program, which supports wounded veterans through bicycling programs. A dinner with Karl Rove went for $16,000.

Maples, who is president and chief executive officer of defense contractor R&D Electronics in Brownsboro, said she is a big fan of the former governor.

"I like her morals, and I believe she loves America and would like to do what is best for America," she said. "She doesn't compromise her morals for votes. That's very unusual in a politician."

She talked about her winning bid to break bread with the former governor, not surprisingly, on Faux News.

Baby daddy Levi Johnston on Sarah Palin's knocked-up plan for Bristol; Freepers go ape

The steam must be blasting out of Sarah Palin's ears right about now as Levi Johnston, the father of her grandchild, sat down with Vanity Fair and described what it was like to live with the ~~Jerry Springer guests~~ Palin family for two months after the election. Johnston, who was clearly exploited by the failed GOP Veep candidate, says that parading him around the stage in Minnesota as the soon to be married proud papa was not the diva of the right wing's Plan A to handle the pregnancy issue.

Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it a secret-nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant. She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him. That way, she said, Bristol and I didn't have to worry about anything. Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging-she wouldn't give up. She would say, "So, are you gonna let me adopt him?" We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good, and she didn't want people to know that her 17-year-old daughter was going to have a kid.

Needless to say, the swamps of Freeperville are erupting...see it (and a video of Levi) below the fold.

The Palin house was much different from what many people expect of a normal family, even before she was nominated for vice president. There wasn't much parenting in that house. Sarah doesn't cook, Todd doesn't cook-the kids would do it all themselves: cook, clean, do the laundry, and get ready for school. Most of the time Bristol would help her youngest sister with her homework, and I'd barbecue chicken or steak on the grill.

You have to watch the video around the 4:00 mark where one of the guys riding in the car with Johnston is talking about whether Bristol's former squeeze will be doing a shoot for Playgirl and whether he has enough "johnson" to show. ROTFLOL.

Remember how young Johnston was praised during the convention for standing up there representing the new conservative family values system, have now done a 180. As usual, the calls for him to be beaten up or offed abound.

This story certainly smells fishy to me. Like some Lib wrote up their stereotype of what Sarah must be like and put Mr. Johnston's name on it.
Levi's only attention/fame getting ploy, is to say bad stuff about Sarah. He is working it to the max. We know the liberals can't wait to post derogatory comments from him about Sarah. She is being classy to ignore him. I do not believe him. He is being deliberately ugly .
Well I hope Sarah paid the kids at least minimum wage for time spent doing their chores. And for godsakes, the kids better have filed tax returns for that money. They will never be over, just so long as Palin is a threat and he is willing to trash the Palin family. She was governor, he works. I have no doubt the Palin's were pressed for time, but I am equally sure that Levi Johnston clearly understands where his financial bread is buttered and there's always more cash for more dirt, whether exaggerated or not.
I simply do not understand why you folks keep devoting bandwidth to this loser. He means nothing.
I think we need to remember that politicians are very unusual people. They are intense and ambitious. Family life has been strained for politicians of many political stripes.
My guess is that Johnston is taking some things that have a grain of truth and exaggerating them. When Palin was giving speeches all over the country, of course she wasn't making every hockey game. Arguing is part of married life, and intense people like the Palins probably have intense arguments. A determined and caring woman like Palin may have thought Bristol wasn't ready to be a mother and was willing to strongly encourage her not to have the child.
And how many of us have complained about our jobs? If any of us could quit our jobs and triple our income, wouldn't it be tempting? And if any of us had been treated like McCain's people treated Palin, wouldn't we be a bit annoyed?
This whole thing just makes out Palin to be a human being and Johnston a lowlife who can't be trusted with someone's privacy.

McCain: Palin would 'make a fine president'

How did the Arizona senator even say that with a straight face? Even worse, the man went on Meet the Press and when David Gregory asked him to comment on the soon-to-be-former Alaska governor's decision to quit her job, McCain couldn't even admit Palin was "quitting." Watch it (via Think Progress):

Asked by host David Gregory what he thought of Palin quitting her job as Governor of Alaska, McCain said, "I don't think she quit," adding "I don't know there was a quote, promise" that she made to the voters of Alaska. Gregory pressed:

GREGORY: Senator McCain, you have faced personal torture, personal attacks, political attacks, investigations. You have never resigned from anything. Is it consistent with your qualities of leadership to resign an elected post like this?
McCAIN: Sure.
GREGORY: It is consistent?
McCain said, "I know she's qualified. ... No doubt about it." He added, "I'm confident she would make a fine president." Gregory concluded by asking, "Knowing everything you know now, would you pick her again?" McCain unhesitatingly responded, "Absolutely."

GOP consultant Jackson: Alaska Governor Sarah Palin -- "pallin'" around with incompetence

Black GOP political consultant Raynard Jackson's latest guest post doesn't pull any punches about the soon-to-be former governor of Alaska. -- Pam

During last year's presidential election, Alaska governor Sarah Palin infamously accused Barack Obama of "pallin' around with terrorists." Of course this was an outright lie. So, after last Friday's press announcement that she was resigning her position as governor, one might rightly conclude that she has been "pallin' around with incompetence." But, in her case, this much is true.
When John McCain named her as his running-mate, the presidential campaign was effectively over. This will go down as the worst vice presidential pick in history! She brought absolutely nothing to the ticket. If you are still trying to solidify your base of support in August before a November election, you are in big trouble.
A young (45 years old), somewhat decent looking female who could read a teleprompter fairly well, was supposed to help win an election? What did that say about John McCain and the Republican Party? It showed how desperate they were.
Palin had little experience, no vision, and was and is politically tone deaf. From a PR perspective, she needed (and never received) voice training. Her voice is very irritating to listen too because of it's pitch. She misuses the English language (folksy talking may work in Alaska, but it doesn't come across well in a national campaign). She also should have been told to leave her children at home. Her using her children as props was very weird. Dragging around her infant, downs syndrome child was bordering on abuse. How do you justify dragging around a newborn on planes and having him on stage after 10 p.m. exposed to thousands of people? Some people will do anything for power.

She demanded that her family be off limits, but she constantly injected them into as many campaign activities as she could. After the campaign it got worse. She and her family had all manner of family issues debated in the media. Again, this was of her choosing. As opposed to acting like the governor of a state and a mature adult, she got into a pissing contest with the 18 year old father of her grandchild.
Last month she got into another pissing contest with comedian David Letterman. In both cases it involved Palin's family. Again, she tried to use her family as pawns and in both cases it backfired on her.
So, it should be no surprise that she would make another bad, irrational decision like resigning in the middle of her first term as governor. Last week's press conference was the most illogical, rambling, embarrassing political event I had ever seen.
If she ever wants to be taken seriously, the first thing she needs to do is SHUT UP! Every times she talks, she continues to confuse even those who are trying to be open minded about her. The more she talks, the dumber we get.
She looked idiotic being interviewed in fishing garb (waders). What was she thinking, allowing herself to be interviewed in that type of attire? She needs to stop granting interviews and just disappear for a year. But, after last Friday, she has reached the point of no return. She comes across as very delusional-to actually think she has any realistic chance of being a credible candidate for president..
Even if she were to get 100% of the conservative vote in a primary, that is only a third of the Republican vote (by 2012, this number will be down to about 25%). How does she get to 50%? She doesn't. She has totally repulsed women, independents, and suburban voters. There is no viability to her at all.
If she is the future of the party, then I am the past. What does it say about the state of the Republican Party when people continue to say she is one of the leaders in the party? What is that based on? Name examples of her showing leadership.
She is the personification of narcissism (totally self absorbed). Someone in the party needs to sit her down and have a heart to heart meeting with her to let her know that she is damaged goods.
Is her political career over? "You Betcha!"

The number of female service members who have become homeless after leaving the military has jumped dramatically in recent years, according to new government estimates, presenting the Veterans Administration with a challenge as it struggles to accommodate the hundreds of thousands of returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.
As more women serve in combat zones, the share of female veterans who end up homeless, while still relatively small at an estimated 6,500, has nearly doubled over the last decade, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
For younger veterans, it is even more pronounced: One out of every 10 homeless vets under the age of 45 is now a woman, the statistics show.
And unlike their male counterparts, many have the added burden of being single parents.
Overall, female veterans are now between two and four times more likely to end up homeless than their civilian counterparts, according to the VA, most as a result of the same factors that contribute to homelessness among male veterans: mental trauma related to their military service and difficulty transitioning into the civilian economy.
But while veterans' services have been successfully reaching out to male veterans through shelters and intervention programs, women are more likely to fall through the cracks.
The trend has alarmed top lawmakers and veterans groups, who fear that the federal government - which is already straining to care for new veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, brain injuries, and other physical ailments - is ill-prepared to deal with the special needs of female veterans who find themselves on the street.

Of the 1.8 million female military veterans, Dogen was among the 7,000 to 8,000 who are homeless, as estimated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She is among the few who have benefited from new housing specifically for female veterans, an initiative homeless advocates say falls far short of what is needed.
The homeless female veteran is a relatively new phenomenon because only recently have so many women - more than 190,000 in Iraq and Afghanistan alone - been serving in the military, said Todd DePastino, a historian at Waynesburg University who wrote a book on the history of homelessness.
The number of homeless female veterans have gone up - from 3 percent of all homeless veterans a decade ago to 5 percent, the VA says.
"It's a national embarrassment," said Paul Rieckhoff, executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.

It's that and worse, imo. And what's confusing is that the most recent story claims there are 6500 homeless female veterans, the November 2008 story relates 7000-8000, and the July 2007 article estimates over 8000.

This shows a downward trend in the reported numbers, yet the percentages keep CLIMBING in the stories. Apparently the VA really doesn't have a grasp on the real numbers of women involved...

How can supposed news media, like CNN, ABC or FoxNews, be blind to this issue?

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has gone fishing -- literally -- since her shocking announcement that she is resigning.
But the polarizing Palin resurfaced today on the morning news shows, wearing her waders but not taking the bait to make her political future clear.
Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee last year and in the conversation for 2012, told CNN that "all options are on the table" for her future and said she wants to stay involved in national public life.
"We have so many people who offer advice, but I'm going to continue to be, whether some of 'em like it or not, pretty darn independent, and not get wrapped up into a strong political machine that hasn't been extremely successful in some ways," she said on Fox News Channel. "I want to work, right now, for people who are going to work in office or out of office for the right things. Those principles that built up America, those who are inspired by the values of America, and will not deride or apologize for the values we hold as Americans. I'm gonna work for those people."
But she also told ABC's "Good Morning America" that she recognizes that her resignation -- disclosed in a rambling speech in the news dead zone of the Friday of July Fourth weekend -- might have damaged her prospects. "You know, politically speaking, if I die, I die. So be it," she said.

Good gravy, even Andrea Mitchell was there for "Salmon Fishing With Sarah"...

Everyone out there has a theory -- the latest is that Sarah Palin stepped aside as governor of Alaska because she's about to get caught up in a scandal centered related to a building contractor, Spenard Building Supplies that has close ties to the Thrilla from Wasilla and her husband, Todd. Max Blumenthal at The Daily Beast explains.

Many political observers in Alaska are fixated on rumors that federal investigators have been seizing paperwork from SBS in recent months, searching for evidence that Palin and her husband Todd steered lucrative contracts to the well-connected company in exchange for gifts like the construction of their home on pristine Lake Lucille in 2002. The home was built just two months before Palin began campaigning for governor, a job which would have provided her enhanced power to grant building contracts in the wide-open state.

SBS has close ties to the Palins. The company has not only sponsored Todd Palin's snowmobile team, according to the Village Voice's Wayne Barrett, it hired Sarah Palin to do a statewide television commercial in 2004.

Though Todd Palin told Fox News he built his Lake Lucille home with the help of a few "buddies," according to Barrett’s report, public records revealed that SBS supplied the materials for the house. While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin blocked an initiative that would have required the public filing of building permits—thus momentarily preventing the revelation of such suspicious information.

Sounds like an Uncle Ted Stevens kind of deal, huh?

UPDATE: With the rumors of a possible corruption charge/investigation being lodged against Palin, the FBI released a statement:

"There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her," Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. "It's just not true." He added that there was "no wiggle room" in his comments for any kind of inquiry.

This story has eclipsed the 2012 presidential run speculation a bit, but it's hard not to revel over Palin's decision and the consternation it has brought to GOP operatives, who are weighing whether this is a positive or negative for the party and Palin.

[L]iberation comes at a potentially steep price. These include brutal reviews from many Republicans, who believe that quitting mid-term in the fashion she did amounts to political suicide.

“There is just no good way to say quitting has made her more qualified to run for higher office,” said veteran GOP pollster Glen Bolger.

...“I think Sarah Palin is on the verge of becoming the Miami Vice of American politics: Something a lot of people once thought was cool and then 20 years later look back, shake their heads and just kind of laugh,” quipped Republican media consultant Todd Harris.

Even those who were less critical of her choice were taken aback by Palin’s rambling, hard-to-follow news conference by the side of a lake outside her home. The performance had shades of Richard Nixon’s “You won’t have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore” news promise in 1962, as well as Mark Sanford’s bizarre exercise in self-revelation just last month.

UPDATE: MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell makes it sound like Palin is stepping down for family reasons and is sick of politics... has told backers she wants OUT.

UPDATE 2 (by Pam): She figures Mark Sanford self-immolated, Charlie Crist (ha) is going for the Senate, Mitt's Mormonism won't pass the fundie test, and Bobby Jindal looks like a featherweight. I guess that leaves Huckabee. What a field that is for 2012. From the NYT:

Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska announced Friday that she would step down by the end of the month and not seek a second term as governor, fueling speculation that she is seriously weighing whether to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012.
Ms. Palin, who was Senator John McCain's vice presidential running mate last year and solidified the support of the party's conservative base, explained her decision at a news conference at her home in Wasilla, Alaska, accompanied by her husband, Todd, and other family members.
"We know we can effect positive change outside of government," she said in making the announcement.
There had been wide speculation that she would seek to be the Republican Party's presidential candidate in 2012. Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, who is also considered to be a leading Republican candidate for president in 2012, announced last month that he would not seek re-election.

Now you'll remember all of the BS boasting about the brilliance of Sarah Palin that went on in the McCain camp and by conservatives when she was selected as the failed presidential candidate's running mate. Don't you think it's professional malfeasance, hell, unpatriotic, to try to 1) foist her onto the American public as a strong, credible candidate, and 2) propel someone so wholly unqualified into the White House? We all called it back then, but now the McCainiacs are falling all over one another to say how brain-dead and incorrigible Palin was to Vanity Fair. (Raw Story):

According to the article, former McCain campaign staffers suffer from a collective "survivor's guilt" over the problem-plagued choice of Palin as vice-presidential candidate. The friction between McCain and Palin was so intense that it carried over into election night, when Palin wanted to address the Arizona crowd to whom McCain was to give his concession speech. After much back-and-forth wrangling, Palin didn't speak that night.
But trouble had been brewing long before that. Over the course of the campaign, one close adviser to McCain "was heard to refer to Palin as "little shop of horrors'" during the campaign.
...Palin's lack of aptitude in her new starring role as V-P candidate became obvious quickly. At times, it seemed as if she was more concerned with her popularity back home in Alaska than with the national presidential campaign that she was now a central part of.
"By all accounts, Palin was either unwilling, or simply unable, to prepare," the piece says. "In the run-up to the Couric interview, Palin had become preoccupied with a far more parochial concern: answering a humdrum written questionnaire from her hometown newspaper, the Frontiersman ... At the same time, she grew concerned that her approval ratings back home in Alaska were sagging as she embraced the role of McCain's bad cop."

And the Vanity Fair piece asks some really obvious pointed questions that I'd love to hear the answers to from the McCain/Palin supporters who knew what was up.

What does it say about the nature of modern American politics that a public official who often seems proud of what she does not know is not only accepted but applauded? What does her prominence say about the importance of having (or lacking) a record of achievement in public life? Why did so many skilled veterans of the Republican Party - long regarded as the more adroit team in presidential politics - keep loyally working for her election even after they privately realized she was casual about the truth and totally unfit for the vice-presidency? Perhaps most painful, how could John McCain, one of the cagiest survivors in contemporary politics - with a fine appreciation of life's injustices and absurdities, a love for the sweep of history, and an overdeveloped sense of his own integrity and honor-ever have picked a person whose utter shortage of qualification for her proposed job all but disqualified him for his?

Sarah Palin To Release Memoirs

What a surprise- Sarah Palin is writing a book.

More specifically, her "memoirs". So far no working title- maybe she should glean the Blender files for inspiration?

"There have been so many things written and said through mainstream media that have not been accurate and it will be nice through an unfiltered forum to get to speak truthfully about who we are and what we stand for and what Alaska is all about," Palin said in an interview today in which she announced the deal.
Palin and HarperCollins would not say how much she was being paid. Asked why, the governor and former Republican nominee for vice president said she didn't want to distract from the substance of the book.
"The idea is to focus on the content of the book and what's coming in terms of me being able to tell my story unrestrained and unfiltered," Palin said.

Presumably it will be widely considered coincidental that the release, scheduled for next spring, is just before she starts gearing up for her gubernatorial re-election bid...

The book is to be published sometime in the spring of 2010. Palin will collaborate on the book with a professional writer, who is expected to be chosen soon. The governor said she wants to do a lot of the writing herself, and that it will be her story and her words.
"It will be nice to put my journalism degree to work on this and get to tell my story, Alaska's story. There have been so many unauthorized books and publications that have spoken to somebody else's opinion of who I am what my family represents and what Alaska is all about," she said.
Palin hired Robert Barnett, a Washington D.C. lawyer who is one of the most powerful figures in book publishing, to negotiate the deal for her memoir. His past deals reportedly include $12 million for Bill Clinton's memoir and an $8.5 million advance for Alan Greenspan.
"I just really look forward to being able to relate to people through this book, those who are anxious to hear stories about people who are facing similar challenges perhaps. That's balancing work and parenting - in my case work does mean running a state, and family involves a large and fun and colorful ordinary family that really has been thrust into maybe some extra ordinary circumstances," the governor said.
Palin said the book won't interfere with her duties as governor, and others have written books while in leadership positions. She said she won't work on the book during state time and will be jotting down her thoughts "after hours."

The heck with whether the book interferes with her "duties as governor"- the more important and pressing question is whether Sarah will be able to continue to monitor Bristol's growing career as "Abstinence Ambassador"!

No idea how much dough HarperCollins is willing to shill out to Sarah- one report says 7 million and another 11 million.

Alot of dough will change hands, no doubt- and will help with those pesky and ever-growing legal bills.

Think the library in Wasilla will have a copy or will it be on the "Books To Be Burned" list?

Now that-Failed 2008 Vice Presidential Candidate- ~~2012 Presidential hopeful~~Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has addressed the ever-so important gubernatorial issue of smacking down the teenage father of her grandson in public, it's nice to see her relax a bit.

Take on a lighter topic, one which certainly she has been extremely up-front and vocal about in the past, time and again:

Alaska's need for protection from a North Korean missile strike.

(CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's office reacted Monday to North Korea's missile test with a statement that "reaffirmed Alaska's commitment to protecting America from rogue nation missile attacks."

The statement also stressed Palin's request for stimulus funds for a commercial rocket launch facility owned and operated by a public corporation of the state of Alaska.

Well, it's not as if the Governor hasn't been pounding the "Protection From Future Korean Missile Strikes" drum often enough; certainly it was one of her major concerns during her failed bid as Veep.

Strangely enough, this is as close to discussing any foreign concerns "in the Pacific Theater" as Governor Palin has gotten:

Even checking "Teh Google" for any cross reference of Mrs. Palin and North Korea yields only this one official statement from the Governor. The New World Order folks must have hit and erased it all...

Well, that's alright- maybe Tyra Banks, the high water mark of hard-hitting journalism, can invite the Governor and President Obama to sit on the sofa and work through this together...
